ODSP Data Breach

Disability recipients whose information was breached are set to sue the province

On January 23rd, 2019, Rochon Genova LLP served the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services with a Notice of Action, announcing our intention to initiate a class proceeding on behalf of the 45,000 ODSP recipients whose names, email addresses, and ODSP identification numbers were disclosed without authorization in December 2018.

If you were affected by this unauthorized disclosure, please note that you do not need to take any action to be a part of the proposed class proceeding. Class proceedings in Ontario automatically bind class members, unless they explicitly and deliberately ‘opt-out’ to proceed individually.

However, we greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak directly to potential class members, and encourage you to contact us. Please email Jon Sloan at [email protected] or, telephone 416-363-1867, ext. 299.
