
Juela Xhaferraj
Biography
Juela is an associate in our Class Actions group. Prior to being called to the bar in 2021, she summered and articled at our firm. Since joining the firm in 2019, Juela has assisted on trials, motions and appeals and has worked on a broad range of class actions, including those involving institutional abuse, Crown liability, pharmaceutical liability and consumer protection.
Juela has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. In law school she was a senior editor for the Journal of Law and Equality, a student-run, peer reviewed journal. She also volunteered and completed a practicum at the Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights legal clinic where she had the opportunity to work on constitutional litigation and conduct academic research related to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. In her second year of law school, she was awarded the Alan Borovoy Prize in Civil Liberties for highest standing in the Freedom of Expression and the Press course.
