Biography

Pritpal is an associate at Rochon Genova LLP. Prior to being called to the bar in 2023, Pritpal articled and summered at Rochon Genova.

Pritpal has assisted and been counsel on a variety of class action and multi-plaintiff litigation matters involving institutional abuse and negligence, pharmaceutical and medical device liability, and securities misrepresentations, including trials, motions and appeals before Ontario courts and a motion and trial before the Superior Court of Quebec. He assisted the trial team with the common issues trial in Lac-Megantic and was a member of the successful counsel team in S v. Ukraine International Airlines in which the Ontario Superior Court of Justice held that Ukraine International Airlines was negligent in relation to the downing of Flight PS752 on January 8, 2020. He was also part of the successful counsel team at the certification motion in Pugliese et al. v. Chartwell et al, and is a member of the counsel team in Vecchio Longo Consulting Services Inc. v. Aphria Inc et al, which is scheduled for a 6-week common issues trial before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in January 2025.

Pritpal holds a Juris Doctorate from Western Law. While in law school, Pritpal competed and placed second in the 2021 Arnup Moot Court competition and served as a student coach for Western’s 2022 Arnup Moot Court team. Before transferring to Western Law, Pritpal attended Concordia School of Law, where he earned Dean’s list honors in his 1L year.

Pritpal has a passion for promoting access to justice. He has volunteered for a variety of legal projects. Pritpal provided legal representation to low-income tenants facing expedited eviction proceedings. During his time with the International Rescue Committee, Pritpal assisted hundreds of immigrants obtain an American citizenship. His volunteer experience includes drafting testamentary wills for army veterans, providing legal presentations to at-risk youth, and working with the Pro Bono Students Canada Radio Project to develop a podcast focused on access to justice concerns that arose during the pandemic. Pritpal’s volunteer work earned him the Perkins Coie LLP Diversity and Inclusion Award.

Before attending law school, Pritpal obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Victoria.
