Martha Nino Voted One Of Canada’s Top 25 Immigrants – May 4, 2009
ROCHON | GENOVA LLP would like to congratulate Martha Nino on being chosen one of the Top 25 Canadian Immigrants of 2009.
Over 10,000 people voted in Canadian Immigrant magazine’s first ever people’s choice awards between February and April. The awards aim to celebrate the achievements of immigrants who have positively contributed to Canadian society.
Originally from Colombia, Martha came to Canada in 2001 and has become an important member of Canada’s South American immigrant community. In addition to her consultant work for ROCHON | GENOVA LLP, Martha currently owns and publishes the magazine Revista Abanico. She says that her aim in establishing Revista Abanico is to assist Hispanic immigrants adapt to Canadian society and integrate Canadian and Latin American cultural values. The magazine also gives Hispanic immigrants information on Canadian laws and regulations, as well as career and education opportunities. Martha remains an active member of several Hispanic associations including the Canadian Colombian Professional Association (CCPA), and she supports numerous Hispanic charitable organizations.
